The client's challenge

Fitting a global laundry franchise store into just 70 m² of retail space in Curitiba, ensuring the upper floor could hold the entire production operation — washing, ironing, drying and equipment — on a light steel-frame mezzanine, without sacrificing the brand's visual identity or the comfort of those working there daily.

The design solution

We designed a steel-frame mezzanine that concentrates all washing, ironing, drying and equipment storage on the upper level, freeing up the ground floor for reception, customer service and circulation. In the work environment, we applied paint, a plaster ceiling, a complete electrical design, furniture, lighting and finishes that translate the brand's global guidelines into a functional, comfortable and recognizable local store. Ventilation was sized to dissipate the heat generated by the machines, controlled lighting reduces staff fatigue, and easy-to-clean materials maintain the cleanliness required by the industry.

The project started from the need to adapt a small commercial lot to an extensive operational model: the franchise required a visible reception area, an organized flow of clothing and a complete laundry production operation in just 70 m². The solution was to raise the operation to a light, resilient steel-frame mezzanine, which houses washing machines, dryers, ironing lines and storage without occupying the ground floor.

On the lower level, the reception was designed to welcome customers and translate the brand's global identity into local finishes: paint, a plaster ceiling, electrical design, custom furniture and layered lighting. Staff comfort was treated as part of the project: ventilation sized for the heat from the equipment, light with controlled color temperature, and acoustic surfaces that reduce the continuous noise of the machines.

The construction was overseen from start to finish by the studio, ensuring that the mezzanine structure, the plumbing and electrical installations and the final finishes met both technical standards and the franchise's guidelines. The result is a compact, efficient store aligned with the brand, where the architecture solves the logistics without losing the experience of whoever walks through the door.
