The client's challenge

Creating a showcase environment at the Artefacto store that brought together a living room, dining room and home office into a single legible, sophisticated and livable scene — able to showcase furniture and decor pieces in a layout that would convince visitors to picture that set in their own home.

The design solution

The set design organizes the space into three continuous zones, separated by dark-wood slatted partitions that filter light and create layers of depth. The base palette combines the grayish-blue wall with the light tone of the floor and the white millwork, while the furniture mixes classic and contemporary pieces — a round wooden dining table, chairs with light upholstery, a desk and white chairs, leather armchairs and a rug with a classic pattern. The circular chandelier with a white shade and crystal, the floor lamps and the ceiling fixtures direct light to highlight textures and volumes. Paintings, vases, books and objects on the white shelf complete a composition that balances functionality, comfort and elegance.

In 2010, Espaço A Arquitetura signed one of the showcase environments at the Artefacto store in Curitiba — a set-design work that reflects the studio's approach of combining functionality, elegance and livability in commercial spaces.

The dark-wood slatted partition is the most striking design gesture: it structures the environment without isolating it, allowing light and the eye to pass through between the living room, the dining room and the small office. Behind it, the grayish-blue wall serves as a neutral, sophisticated backdrop for the light-colored furniture.

The round wooden dining table, with light-upholstered chairs, occupies the center of the scene as a gathering point. Beside it, the light-colored desk with white chairs organizes a reading and work corner, demonstrating how the showcase can present solutions for a real home.

The lighting works in layers: the circular chandelier with a white shade and crystal crowns the central axis, the floor lamps create points of warm light and the ceiling fixtures highlight paintings and objects. The white shelf, with vases, books and decorative pieces, reinforces the idea that the environment was set up to be lived in.
