A single-story residence in Curitiba with interiors designed as a continuous sequence: dining for twelve, an intimate living room, a home theater integrated with the games room, a social kitchen and a suite with a private spa.

The client's challenge
The family hosts frequently and wanted a single-story house that would work both for large dinners and for everyday life as a couple, without rooms that felt empty. The original floor plan delivered rooms simply placed next to one another, with little definition of use, uniform lighting and no element to give hierarchy to the social path. The challenge was to create clear transitions between the dining room, living room, cinema and games room while keeping everything visually connected, ensuring acoustic comfort between the entertainment area and the resting areas.
The design solution
The social axis was organized as a path: the dark wood china cabinet and the fireplace form the central volume that divides the dining room from the living room without closing off the view between them. The table for twelve received a crystal chandelier and artworks in neutral tones; the intimate living room got a linen sofa and blinds that filter the light. Next, the home theater opens onto the games room, with a slatted panel, built-in speakers, a support bar and a pool table — an entertainment block that can be isolated from the private areas. The social kitchen, a powder room sculpted in dark marble and the suite bathroom with a hydromassage tub complete the set, all tied together by the same neutral palette and custom millwork.
Being single-story, the house was read as a single continuous plane: each room needs to announce itself without tall walls, and millwork takes on that role throughout the path.
The dark wood china cabinet and the fireplace divide the dining room and living room while keeping an open view between them, and they provide the visual point of warmth that organizes the entire social area.
The dining room for twelve was sized for family gatherings: a table in reflective lacquer, linen chairs, a crystal chandelier and artworks in neutral tones under the diffuse light of the blinds.
The intimate living room works with a linen sofa, black-and-white art and mirrored panels that enhance the perception of space and visually connect the living room, dining room and games area.
The home theater was resolved alongside the games room: a slatted panel with a TV and speakers, a generous sofa in neutral tones, a support bar and a pool table form an entertainment block that can function independently from the resting areas.
The girl's room follows a light, timeless palette: classic-style white millwork, lilac-toned bedding and delicate details that will grow with the child through different stages. The private bathroom repeats the white tone with a round mirror, changing table and organized niches.
The boy's room was designed to grow with the child: wood-toned millwork, illuminated shelves and niches organize toys and objects, while the private bathroom features two sinks, a granite countertop and niches for towels, easing the family's routine.
Acoustic comfort was addressed with slatted cladding, rugs and heavy fabric curtains, reducing the reverberation typical of open floor plans and preventing the cinema's sound from reaching the suite.
The social kitchen received cabinets in a neutral tone, an island with a cooktop, a stainless-steel hood and brick-tile cladding, operating as an extension of the dining room and coffee nook.
The powder room became a small welcoming gallery, with a countertop sculpted in dark marble, a white vessel sink, a bronze mirror and tropical foliage.
The suite bathroom was designed as a private spa: two vessel sinks, a hydromassage tub, metallic tiles, illuminated niches and blinds that control light and privacy.
The curation brings together original design pieces, contemporary art and natural textiles, in a neutral palette that keeps the single-story house's reading light and cohesive from the first to the last room.
