The client's challenge

Build a single-story, 1,000 m² house on a 2,000 m² lot for a family with three children who love hosting family and friends at home. The brief called for spacious social areas integrated with leisure and the outdoor area, a private wing with privacy and abundant natural light — all on a single floor.

The design solution

The project distributed the program across a longitudinal single-story plan: social areas facing the garden and pool, a professional pantry and kitchen integrated with the barbecue and wine cellar, and an independent private wing for the three children and the master suite. Large recessed window frames, generous ceiling height and cobogó screens ensure cross ventilation, natural light and constant visual connection with the landscaping, while materials such as concrete, stone and wood create a timeless, low-maintenance base.

The single-story plan organizes the program into two main blocks: the social block, facing the garden and pool, and the private block, reserved for the family. This separation allows parties and gatherings to take place without disturbing the household's rest.

Large window frames, generous ceiling height and cobogó screens promote cross ventilation and natural light in every room, reducing reliance on mechanical systems and bringing residents closer to the daily light cycle.

Natural materials — exposed concrete, stone and wood — were chosen for their durability, timeless aesthetics and low maintenance, creating a neutral base that showcases the furniture and art over time.
