The client's challenge

We followed the process from the choice of the corner lot to move-in day. The couple — a businessman and a civil engineer, with a young daughter — wanted a comfortable house, with integrated areas for entertaining friends and, in the future, growing the family. The challenge was to develop the full 500 m² project, from construction to final decoration, making the most of the lot's privileged view, bordered by a grassy slope, and giving visual lightness to a large-scale build.

The design solution

We designed a two-story house with a sand-toned façade and white eaves that protect the openings and give depth to the massing. Floor-to-ceiling windows distribute natural light throughout the social areas and bedrooms, while the second-floor balcony extends the visual relationship with the garden. The structural pergola and the wood deck extend the social area outdoors, creating geometric shadows throughout the day and an outdoor gathering space. The front lawn garden and native vegetation create a smooth transition between the street and the entrance, and the low-maintenance exterior cladding preserves the house's appearance over the years.

The T | J Residence occupies a residential lot in Curitiba with a clear proposal: to build a house with presence without losing its family scale. The two floors were organized so that the ground-floor social areas would open onto the front garden, while the second floor concentrated the private area with a view of the greenery.

The sand-toned façade with white eaves establishes a timeless, elegant language. The generous windows and the upper-floor balcony ensure continuous natural light and expand the perception of space, while the front lawn garden and low-maintenance vegetation soften the transition between the street and the house.

The outdoor area stands out with the structural pergola in light concrete, whose grid of square openings filters light and casts regular shadows on the wood deck throughout the day. Armchairs and a chaise in synthetic fiber, combined with a generous table, turn the space into an extension of the living area and invite gathering and rest between the garden and the house's massing.

Internally, the circulation was designed to be fluid and discreet, connecting the living room, dining room and service area without interfering with the views. Easy-to-maintain materials and a neutral palette ensure that the residence keeps its sophisticated identity over time.
