Viver com Arte
One of the environments of the Viver com Arte (Living with Art) showcase at the Artefacto store in Curitiba: the space signed by Espaço A Arquitetura translates the concept of living with art into neutral tones, with a fireplace, a central artwork and a symmetrical composition of sideboards and greenery. The master suite, titled 'Descanso da Alma' (Rest for the Soul), was born from contemplating the work of Carlos Araújo and reinforces the artistic sensibility that runs through the architect's entire career.

The client's challenge
The Viver com Arte showcase brought together several environments and spaces at the Artefacto store in Curitiba. The challenge for our environment was to create, within that ensemble, a space that would serve at once as a backdrop for artworks and design pieces and as a truly livable living room. We needed to organize the fireplace, art, sculptural furniture and greenery into a cohesive scene, without losing the human scale or the coziness of a lived-in space. In the 'Descanso da Alma' suite, the challenge was to go beyond physical rest: inspired by the work of Carlos Araújo, we needed to translate spirituality and beauty into an environment where rest would also be for the soul.
The design solution
We designed our space at the Artefacto store around a strong central axis: the light-toned sculpted fireplace, the generous artwork and the stacked firewood form the backdrop of the scene, flanked by wall sconces that create layers of light. Two symmetrical white sideboards hold glass vases with lush foliage, which soften the geometry and add natural scale. Curved sofas, stone and wood coffee tables and a neutral rug complete a room that invites people to stay. The environment also features the 'Descanso da Alma' suite, with an elevated bed as the center of the composition, a Papillon sofa and chaise, Vimen armchairs, a Pietra bar cabinet, Louise side tables and a wooden desk, where the window with blinds frames the silhouette of Curitiba's araucaria trees and natural light turns every piece into a true work of art.
The Viver com Arte showcase brought together several environments and spaces at the Artefacto store in Curitiba. The space signed by our studio proposed a real room within that ensemble: not a cold display of objects, but a complete living room where art, the fireplace and furniture shared the spotlight. The result is an environment that reads like a set but feels like home.
The journey begins with our space, where the sculpted fireplace and the generous artwork set the visual axis of the scene. Two symmetrical white sideboards, glass vases with foliage and wall sconces create layers of light, texture and scale. Curved sofas, stone and wood coffee tables and a neutral rug complete a serene composition, while the light marble floor reflects light and amplifies the sense of space.
In the same environment, we extended this atmosphere into the 'Descanso da Alma' master suite. Here, art does not merely decorate: it guides. The starting point was the work of Carlos Araújo, whose sensitivity to the sacred resonates deeply within the architect's soul. Inspired by this dialogue between spirituality and beauty, Caroline Bollmann conceived an environment that goes beyond physical rest — here, rest is also for the soul. The elevated bed defines the center of the composition, while pieces such as the Papillon sofa and chaise, the Vimen armchairs, the Pietra bar cabinet and the Louise side tables reveal themselves as functional sculptures. For Caroline, these choices are true works of art: for their design, proportion and ability to translate feelings into form.
The large opening with blinds filters natural light and frames the silhouette of the araucaria trees — connecting the interior to Curitiba's characteristic landscape. The intimate environment keeps the living room's neutral palette, with light linen, natural wood and leather, reinforcing the sense of coziness and refinement.
The decor details reinforce the curation of our environment: blown glass, organic sculptures on slatted pedestals, hourglass-shaped side tables and arrangements of branches and books turn every corner into a small scene. The neutral palette — off-white, taupe, light marble and wood — allows the sculptural forms and the art to stand out without competing.
Actor Henri Castelli's visit to our environment at Artefacto confirmed the strength of the proposal: a well-designed space attracts, welcomes and speaks to different audiences. The final images of the space in frontal perspective close the narrative by showing the complete scene — fireplace, artwork, curved sofas and stacked firewood — as an invitation to stay.
