The client's challenge

With the architecture already defined — a 300 m² house built on a compact lot, with an integrated pool and leisure area — the challenge for the interiors was to bring human scale to the double-height living room, enhance the sense of spaciousness within a reduced area and maintain a continuous reading between the social spaces and the leisure area, with acoustic and visual comfort for the family's daily life.

The design solution

A continuous dark marble panel anchors the living room and concentrates the TV, linear fireplace and audio system on a single vertical plane, absorbing the excess height. The low modular furniture in neutral tones, the graphic-pattern rug and the translucent linen curtains create a tactile layer that reduces reverberation and filters the light from the large window frames. The sequence of floor-to-ceiling window frames dissolves the boundary between the living room, barbecue area, pool and vertical garden at the rear of the lot, while the small lawn appears as a green frame on the everyday horizon.

The interior design started from a reading of the light and the landscape: the floor-to-ceiling window frames feature translucent linen curtains that soften the sunlight without darkening the room, keeping the view of the rear vertical garden, the pool and the small lawn throughout the day.

The palette works with grays, off-white and wood in layers of texture — polished marble, coarse-weave fabric, patterned rug and matte metal — ensuring discreet sophistication and surfaces that absorb sound in a high-volume space.

The furniture curation favored modular, low pieces that preserve the reading of the double-height ceiling and allow the living room to be reconfigured according to the number of guests. Vases and foliage punctuate niches and side tables, bringing biophilia into daily life.

Lighting was resolved in three layers: recessed general lighting, scenic lighting over the marble panel and decorative lighting in the dining pendants, with a warm color temperature to favor rest at the end of the day.
