Residential architecture in Curitiba, Brazil

Espaço A Arquitetura, a boutique studio based in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, designs contemporary houses, homes and apartments under the authorship of architect Caroline Bollmann. Each project starts from the site, the family's routine and the real daylight, ventilation and acoustic conditions of the place.

More than 24 years of residential practice, from 60 m² apartments to homes above 1,000 m², always with complete construction documentation and site supervision.

Contemporary houses and homes

Each home begins with a technical reading of the site: solar orientation, prevailing winds, topography, neighbors and privacy. Volumes, materials and façade come afterwards. Projects such as Residence B | T, Residence C | G and Residence C | R show this path across very different sites and programs.

  • Daylight, cross-ventilation and thermal comfort studies.
  • Clear zoning between social, private and service areas.
  • Pool, leisure and outdoor kitchen integrated into the main volume.
  • Full construction documentation for bidding and site work.

Apartments

In apartments the work usually combines spatial reorganization, custom millwork and lighting design — as in Apartment B | K, Apartment V | M and Penthouse F | P, where the original floor plan was reinterpreted around how each client actually lives.

Architecture and interiors in one project

In most residential projects, architecture and interiors are developed together. Electrical points, ceilings, millwork, lighting and finishes are decided on the same drawing, so the construction site receives one coherent set of information.

Healthy architecture applied to the home

The studio's Healthy Architecture methodology treats indoor air quality, daylight, acoustic comfort and biophilia as design decisions, with carefully selected low-emission materials.
